Our Story

Two ventures. One idea: bring the best of it back home.

Biz2Gig didn't start as an idea on a laptop. It started with us actually buying, sorting, selling, and learning secondhand clothing firsthand.

We're Americans, but for the past seven years we've been doing business in the Dominican Republic, operating physical storefronts and selling secondhand American clothing directly to customers there.

That experience completely changed the way we looked at the used clothing business.

The Dominican Republic has a rapidly growing middle class with a strong appetite for American fashion, brands, and premium-quality clothing — products that can often be difficult or expensive to access locally. That demand has helped make the country a robust market for secondhand American apparel, which is one of the reasons large clothing recyclers and textile sorting facilities send significant amounts of U.S. inventory there.

We saw something most people in the United States never really think about: a huge amount of desirable American clothing leaves the country and ends up in international resale markets like the Dominican Republic.

And once you spend years selling that clothing face-to-face, you quickly learn that not every piece is equal.

You learn what people actually want.

You learn which brands move.

You learn which styles have value.

You learn the difference between clothing that looks good in a bale and clothing somebody will actually pay money for.

And most importantly, you learn how important the sorting process is.

We built that knowledge the hard way — one shipment, one rack, one customer and one storefront at a time.

Eventually we realized that the experience and sourcing network we had built in the Dominican Republic could solve a problem for American resellers too.

A lot of people starting a side hustle on eBay, Depop, Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot and other resale platforms want inventory, but they don't want to spend every weekend digging through thrift stores. They also don't want to gamble hundreds of dollars on completely random wholesale clothing.

That's why we created Biz2Gig.

We partner with Green Gold Recycling, a family-run clothing recycling and sorting operation with decades of experience in the industry. At their Santo Domingo facility, clothing is separated into more than 100 categories and graded before it ever reaches us.

From there, we select only Cream and Grade A merchandise.

Then we go through it again.

This is where we combine what we've learned from years of sorting clothing piece by piece with data analytics and marketplace information. We look at what brands, styles, categories and types of clothing are actually selling across platforms like eBay, Depop, Poshmark, Mercari and Whatnot, and we use that information to help curate the inventory we select.

Our team checks the condition, looks at the brands and styles, removes pieces that don't meet our standards, watches for counterfeit merchandise, and uses both hands-on experience and resale data to make better decisions about what goes into a Biz2Gig pack.

We're not trying to send our customers everything that comes through the door.

We're trying to send them the pieces we would want if we were reselling them ourselves — inventory selected with the goal of giving resellers a better opportunity to make money.

In a way, Biz2Gig is bringing our journey full circle.

We started with American clothing that had made its way to the Dominican Republic. We spent seven years learning how to identify, sort and sell it in a real retail environment. Now we're bringing that experience — along with a more data-driven approach to curation — back to the United States for a new generation of resellers.

Biz2Gig isn't just another wholesale clothing website to us.

It's the next chapter of a business we've already been living for years.

How Grading Works

Not all used clothing ends up in the same place

Every garment that gets collected in America and exported is graded first — and that grade decides where in the world it goes. It's global demand matched to purchasing power, not luck.

Piantini, Santo Domingo skyline
Cream & Grade A
Dominican Republic & Latin America Strong purchasing power, real demand for quality — this is where we source.
Grade B and lower worn clothing
Grade B & C
Heavier wear, lower value Faded, worn, or damaged pieces — sold in bulk for volume, not curated quality.
We source this
Cream

Near-new, current styles or sought-after vintage. No visible flaws.

We source this
Grade A

Like-new to lightly worn. Modern brands, no major defects.

Grade B

Fully functional basics with light-to-moderate wear.

Grade C

Heavier wear or fading, still usable.

Markets with real purchasing power — like the Dominican Republic — can afford to demand Cream and Grade A only. That's the only tier we source. Everything lower in the chart never reaches our warehouse.
